Tips

Here are some tips to add more faces to this project:

1. Use your own eyes

These are some eyes that you can use or create:

  • googly - available from many craft supply stores
  • handmade - crafted by you or a friend
  • recycled - let old eyes from magazines etc see another day.

2. Eye-spy a public place that needs love

  • Use your own eyes and seek to surprise.
  • It’s good to make places better, not worse.
  • If it rains where you live, googly eyes are best placed in sheltered places. Otherwise the plastic ends up down the drain (and often the sea). The oceans have enough googly eyes already.

3. Keep your eyes fixed

  • Double-sided tape works well to hold eyes in place.
  • Experiment to see what works best. You could even try chewing gum (but ew).

4. Share your eyes with the world

  • Now take some photos!
  • A small tip: it’s fun to zoom in, but it’s good to take pictures that set the wider scene.
  • You can share your best photos on this site. Just describe where in the world your eyes are.
  • We’d also love you to add your photos to the map.
  • Please note that only the loveliest pictures will be added to this site, but you can also share all your photos on Flickr. Just upload and tag your photos with eyeloveyouworld and your location.

5. Spread the love, baby.

  • If you want to go one step further, you can print a postcard* about this project, or make and share your own. Give them to loved ones or put them up in public places. That way we can spread Eye Love Yous across the world.

*OK - we know it’s an image. But if you print it out you can use like a postcard. Ya see?

That’s it!

Now enjoy.
